U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) will address the New England Council’s Congressional Luncheon at the Bedford Village Inn in Bedford on Tuesday, May 26, at 12:00 p.m. Shaheen will highlight her efforts to promote small business growth and job creation in New Hampshire.
Earlier, Shaheen will visit Strawbery Banke at 10:00 a.m. in Portsmouth to discuss the importance of tourism to New Hampshire’s economy. Tourism is one of New Hampshire’s largest industry. Direct spending by people visiting New Hampshire was $4.48 billion in 2012 producing more than $151 million in revenue for the state through meals and rooms taxes.
Later in Manchester, Senators Shaheen and Ayotte will host a forum at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Anselm College with officials from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to discuss the Veterans Choice Card program. The forum will be an opportunity for New Hampshire veterans to ask questions regarding their health care options under the Veterans Choice Card program.
