TUESDAY IN CLAREMONT: SHAHEEN TO VISIT RED RIVER COMPUTER COMPANY TO DISCUSS VETERANS JOBS BILLS
Shaheen will also speak to high school students at St. Anselm College, meet with firefighters at the Claremont Fire Department, and discuss job creation, economic growth with women business owners at Hypertherm
U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) will highlight the need to promote economic opportunity for our nation’s veterans and discuss her veterans jobs bills while touring Red River Computer Company in Claremont at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18. Shaheen last week introduced two pieces of legislation, the Veterans Hiring Act and the Veterans Entrepreneurship Act, which would create simple, immediate tax incentives for businesses that hire veterans and lower costs for veterans looking to start or grow small businesses.
Earlier, Shaheen will meet with Pelham and Windham high school students at St. Anselm College in Manchester at 9:15 a.m. for the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce Business Education Collaborative Breakfast. Shaheen will discuss her career in civics, government and politics before participating in a question and answer session with students in attendance.
Later, Shaheen will meet with Firefighters at the Claremont Fire Station at 2:15 p.m. Shaheen will commend the officers for all their work, including three who are recovering from injuries sustained earlier this month while battling a blaze, and discuss a $500,000 SAFER grant recently received by the department.
Later in the afternoon, Shaheen will visit Hypertherm in Lebanon at 3:15 p.m. where she will meet with women business owners and discuss her efforts to promote business growth and job creation in New Hampshire. Hypertherm employs nearly 1,100 people in New Hampshire.
