Shaheen Continues “Invest in NH Tour” With Visit to Hannah Grimes Center for Entrepreneurship to Highlight Federal Funding to Support and Train Rural Entrepreneurs

(Keene, NH) – Today, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), a senior member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee and Chair of the U.S. Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, is continuing her “Invest in NH Tour” to highlight Congressionally Directed Spending she secured in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 government funding legislation by meeting with staff from the Hannah Grimes Center for Entrepreneurship and touring the Hannah Grimes Marketplace. During this visit, Shaheen learned how the $528,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending she secured will help the Center train and support rural entrepreneurs and create a rural biotech entrepreneurial hub. “The Hannah Grimes Center for Entrepreneurship is an incredible resource for innovators, and I was proud to secure funds in this year’s government funding legislation for the Center to help expand upon the great work being done there,” said Senator Shaheen. “I was glad to hear firsthand how these funds will help with the Center’s mission to train and support rural entrepreneurs as well as its work to catalyze the growth of a rural biotech ecosystem.”

Senator Shaheen serves as Chair of the U.S. Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee and has played a pivotal role in securing resources for New Hampshire’s entrepreneurs and workers, helping to grow local economies in every corner of the state. Earlier this month, she convened a hearing of the committee to focus on the essential role child care businesses play in supporting the economy. Shaheen secured $6,500,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending to assist rural communities and $878,000 to support entrepreneurship and historic preservation.
