Shaheen Participates in Annual Holiday Cards 4 Our Military Challenge

(Washington, DC) – This week, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) participated in the annual Holiday Cards 4 Our Military Challenge by writing holiday cards of well wishes and gratitude to American service members during the holiday season. You can view photos from the signing here.

“As we approach the holiday season, I’m thankful to the service members and their families who spend the holidays apart so that Americans can celebrate in a free and secure nation,” said Shaheen. “I’m glad the Holiday Cards 4 Our Military Challenge gives us a chance to express our gratitude, and I hope that Granite Staters and Americans around the country will join me in doing so. I extend my sincerest thanks to Laura Landerman-Garber for leading this annual effort.”

The Holiday Cards 4 Our Military Challenge was started in New Hampshire by Laura Landerman-Garber and began as a tradition in her family that has grown immensely in scale since then. Senator Shaheen proudly participates in the program every year to give thanks to U.S. service members, veterans and military families.

In 2019, the Holiday Cards 4 Our Military Challenge went national, resulting in Americans from across the country sending thousands of holiday cards to American troops around the world. 2024 marks the 21st year of the challenge, which has delivered more than one million cards.
