Shaheen Secures $600 Million in Committee-Passed Bipartisan Senate Appropriations Bill to Restore Six F-15EX Aircraft in New Hampshire, Boosting National Security and Investing in Jobs
(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen, a senior member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee and Chair of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and related agencies, secured $600 million in the bipartisan Appropriations Defense Subcommittee bill to restore six F-15EX aircraft. If signed into law, the bill, which was passed by the Committee by a vote of 28-0, would directly support New Hampshire businesses like BAE Systems and others critical to national defense and security.
“I’m proud to secure this win that invests in our national security apparatus right here in New Hampshire,” said Shaheen. “The restoration of six F-15EX aircraft will generate jobs and economic growth for New Hampshire while also bolstering our national defense and preparedness – ensuring America stands strong and resilient against threats to our security.”
Michael Skelton, president and CEO of the Business & Industry Association of New Hampshire, thanked Sen. Shaheen for her work and praised the investment in both the U.S. national security and New Hampshire’s economy.
“This investment will pay dividends across the Granite State, creating well-paying jobs and new career opportunities for many current and future workers,” Skelton said.
A senior member of the U.S. Senate Armed Forces and Appropriations Committees, Shaheen has long championed measures in Congress to bolster America’s national defense and security. She recently led a bipartisan Congressional delegation with U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) to the Farnborough Airshow which provided an opportunity to showcase New Hampshire’s role in American aerospace and defense, as well as send a statement of bipartisan support for American manufacturing and international trade.
